About Nash Sits

Back in 2021, I was 11 years old and not looking to take care of anyone's pets, plants or place. Then one day a neighbor asked if I would be interested in pet and house sitting for a week. I said yes, took my responsibilities seriously, and really enjoyed the opportunity.

Word spread.

Another neighbor asked me to do the same thing. Then, another neighbor asked if I could take care of their plants while they were gone, and another asked if I could take out his trash, grab his mail and just make sure his house was ok while he was away. Four years later my original clients have remained consistent and I’ve also expanded my business within the neighborhood and beyond its borders, connecting with new people and lots of amazing animals along the way.

I love my neighbors, fellow Newburyporters, and caring for the pets and plants that make them happy as well as the places they call home. I’m grateful to be trusted to help my community with responsible and prompt service for all their pet, plant and house sitting needs.

(While I'm a solo entrepreneur, my parents are always available to support me in making sure the job is done right)!

My Services

Pet Sitting

Whether or not you're going away for the day or the week (or even longer), I will make sure your pet is loved while you're away. Of course, that includes the basics like feeding them and making sure they have fresh clean water, but it also means spending time with your pet in whatever way makes them happiest - whether it's being cuddled and read to or playing with their favorite toys. I’ll text updates and pictures so you can be at ease knowing your pets are safe and cared for.

House Sitting

When you're away from home, it's nice to know that your house is in good hands. I will make sure to collect your mail and newspaper. If you're expecting a package, I'll get it off the porch and into your house, will check to see if anything looks out of place, will turn on/off lights, bring your garbage bins to the curb and back, and whatever else you might need.

Hang With Your Pet

You don't need to be traveling to employ my help. Sometimes busy schedules mean pets get lonely, and sometimes pets have more energy than their people. Whether cuddling or playing, I'll give your pet my full attention and get them tired if you need (because I never get tired!). Just like when caring for your pet while you are away, I will text updates and photos of your pet having fun, because who doesn’t like cute photos of their pet enjoying themselves?

Dog Walking

Each dog is different, especially when they are on their leash. I'm comfortable walking almost all dogs, and will always pick up after them and even text photos of our time out. Dog walking is on a case-by-case basis.

Plant Sitting

Turns out, I have a green thumb. I will water your plants, inside and/or out, and keep them thriving while you're away.

Judy A.
(Sienna the cat)

We hired Nash while we were out of town for a week. His duties included getting the mail, feeding our cat, Sienna, cleaning her litter box, keeping an eye on the house and letting us know if anything was amiss. Nash is kind, compassionate, honest and dedicated to the job at hand. He also has wonderful supportive parents. He did a FABULOUS job and we will rehire him in a heartbeat!

About Nash

In addition to being an animal lover and entrepreneur, I'm a 9th grade student at NHS. In 2024, I received the City of Newburyport Human Rights Commission Peace Award. I am also the recipient of the Dr. James C. Pramberg Award (2025) and the Newburyport Fire Department's Citizenship Award (2023). School is very important to me and I aim for success while enjoying learning with my close friends. I am a tri-sport athlete, competing in basketball, soccer, and track. I am lucky to have visited amazing places like Portugal, Belize, Scandinavia, and Turkey, but also like to hop on the MBTA commuter train and explore local towns with my friends. We also had a blast exploring Philly together last year on our 8th grade school trip.

My joy in caring for animals began with the adoption of our mixed-breed rescue dog, Uma, who became part of our family during COVID. Uma has brought immense joy to my life, as have the other pets I now have the privilege of caring for.
